What Would Jack Sparrow Do?

Just listened to another great podcast at the 'Higher Side Chats' website with Gordon White called  -
Gordon White | Depolarization, Decentralization, & Jack Sparrow
and while the whole show is worth a listen, the part I was interested in was on Jack Sparrow from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies.
Gordon seems to favour the fourth movie ... and probably for a good reason, because the fourth one was pretty much based on Tim Powers' book which was published in 1987, called 'On Stranger Tides'.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - Tim Powers Interview
Now, Tim's book was published in 1987 and the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ride that the franchise is based off opened in 1967.
This is Gordon's 7th time on the Higher Side Chats and Chris Knowles recently wrote a post about 7s and the anniversaries that are happening on the years ending in 7, i.e.2017
The Present Can Only Be Viewed from the Past
... and of course the next Pirates movie which was filmed in Australia is coming out in 2017.
Tim also used to be a roommate of PKD ... or at least good friends with PKD.
I also think that the work of Pirates screenwriter Ted Elliott is worth a look over, as far as themes go.
