Giant Rabbit Death on Airplane While Going to the Fair?

Paris Michael K Jackson's 'Donnie Darko' tattoo
I saw a news story this morning about a giant rabbit named Simon who died on a United Airlines flight from London to Chicago on April 20th this year -
Giant rabbit death: US businessmen sue United Airlines after Simon found dead then cremated
"A group of US businessmen have filed a lawsuit against American carrier United Airlines over the death of a giant rabbit during a flight from London to Chicago.
The lawsuit has been filed three months after
the rabbit named Simon was found dead on April 20 and then cremated by the airline.
The three businessmen bought
Simon from a UK breeder with the intention of showing him at the Iowa State Fair and then displaying him and selling related merchandise to raise money for the annual event.
Ten-month-old
Simon reportedly measured 1.04 metres long.

The offspring of Darius — who holds the Guinness World Record for longest rabbit Simon had the potential to also grow to a record-breaking size.
Simon had been placed in a United kennel at O'Hare while awaiting a connecting flight to Kansas City, where his new owners planned to pick him up.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages to cover the costs of
the rabbit as well as punitive damages.
It said
United was negligent in the care and transportation of Simon and that the airline improperly cremated the rabbit.
"
Not in Kansas anymore?!
This story had a very 'Donnie Darko' feel to me and a number of names and places in the story seemed darkly amusing in pop cultural terms.
And I had written a post about the giant rabbit from that movie in my post yesterday -
The Meaning and Meaninglessness of Life (Part 1)
So, I started writing up about this bizzare news story only to have to scrap some of what I had written when I just saw this news story just hit the headlines as I was in the middle of writing this post -
Ohio fair tragedy: One dead, more fighting for life after amusement park ride breaks apart
"A swinging and spinning amusement park ride called the Fire Ball broke apart on the opening day of the Ohio State Fair, hurling people through the air, killing at least one and injuring seven others."
8 people?!
I was going to link the bizarre news story back to an old post I had written about a plane crash in New York in 2001 around the time the movie had come out -
Donnie Darko, 2001 and American Airlines Flight 587
But now this Ohio State Fair accident has cast an eerie shadow over today's events it seems in relation to this weird rabbit story in some Jungian type way.
The day the giant rabbit died was April 20thalso Adolf Hitler's birthday.
It kind of reminded me of the synchromystic Vimeo named
420 KONG
About,"April 20th and the King Kong movies that sync via the stars that unite them".
Although King Kong is about a giant ape, not a giant rabbit.
Jack rabbit?
"Jackrabbits are mammals in the same family as rabbits.
All Jackrabbits are actually hares.
The word jackrabbit comes from a book by Mark Twain, in which he describes the creature as a jackass rabbit, on account of the hare's ears looking as though they belonged to a donkey.
Later on this term shortened to jackrabbit."
Weird how Simon the giant rabbit died on the way to O'Hare airport while going to the fair then.
